you may have seen in the news that bt has bought talktalk. some of our customers’ broadband and phone services run on the talktalk network, so we want to explain what this means for you.
the short answer
we expect your service to carry on exactly as it does today, and there’s nothing you need to do.
what’s happened
bt has bought talktalk, including the part of the business that provides its network to companies like ours. bt has said its priority is to keep talktalk’s customers connected and their services running smoothly.
does this affect you? in short, no.
most broadband and phone lines in the uk run over the same physical network of cables, maintained by openreach network (owned by bt). talktalk is one of the companies that provides access to that network for providers like us, and it’s now owned by bt.
we expect everything to stay the same:
- your broadband and phone line keep working as normal
- your account and contract stay with us
- you keep speaking to the same team, on the same contact details
if anything ever needs your attention, we’ll contact you directly and explain exactly what it means for you.
who you’re with
we’re an independent company, and your account is with us, not with the network. we look after more than 80,000 customers across our group every month, working with several network partners across the uk, and talktalk is one of them.
that gives us real flexibility. whatever happens next, we’ll make sure you stay well looked after.
in the meantime, our team is always happy to help with any questions.
