switching is
easier
than you
think.

you don't need to call your old provider. you don't go offline in between. you pick a plan, and we quietly handle the rest, that's genuinely the whole job.

1
pick your plan

pop in your postcode, choose your patch, and tell us who you're with now. that's everything we need from you.

2
we tell your old provider

think of it as a concierge service. we contact them, agree the handover date, and close your old service down. no awkward goodbye phone call, no cancellation forms, nothing to chase.

3
switch day

your earth connection goes live before your old one ends. most people only notice the change because the film starts quicker.

will i be left with no internet?

your new connection is planned to go live before your old one ends. that's how every switch is built, and if anything ever threatens the date, we'll tell you before it becomes your problem, not after.

will i need to be at home?

for the engineer visit, yes. someone over 18 needs to be in while we set everything up, which usually takes a couple of hours. you pick the slot when you order: mornings, afternoons or weekends.

will i pay two bills at once?

your old service ends when ours begins, so there's no doubled-up month. if you're mid-contract elsewhere, check their exit fee first. if waiting a month or two works out cheaper for you, we'll say so.

the worries,
put to bed.

these are the three things everyone asks before switching.

good questions, straight answers

how long does switching broadband take?

on average five to seven days, and up to two weeks. you pick your switch on date when you order, so you know it before you commit.

i'm still in contract with my current provider. should i wait?

maybe, and we’ll tell you honestly. on an 18 or 24 month plan we put up to £100 towards the early exit fee your current provider charges you. show us the bill when you order and we’ll credit it against your account. there’s no contribution on a two or twelve month plan, which is worth knowing before you pick your term. and if the fee is bigger than £100, or you’re on one of the shorter plans, we’ll suggest ordering now and setting your switch date for the week your contract ends, so you don’t pay it at all. we’d rather you switch happily than quickly.

do i need to return my old router?

some providers ask for their kit back and charge if it doesn't arrive, so check their instructions when they confirm your switch. ours arrives before your switch-on day, ready to go.

what is one touch switch?

it's the industry scheme that lets your new provider handle your whole broadband switch for you. in practice it means you tell us who you're with, and we do everything else. you never contact your old provider at all.

will my phone number move too?

ring us on 01403 214069 and an advisor will check what’s possible at your address. that goes for keeping the number you already have, and for putting a new line in. on full fibre we can often connect digital voice, but it depends on your circumstances and on what else is connected to your line. a care alarm, a burglar alarm or a lift line can all be affected by the move to digital, so tell us about anything like that when you ring and we’ll work out what you need before anything changes.
