Broadband is helping
hurting the planet
We want to change that
We as a society assume that ‘digital’ products don’t have a footprint.
The telecoms sector is responsible for approximately 1.4% of global emissions.🔗
In recent years, the issue of electronic waste has become increasingly concerning. Over the last 15 years, e-waste from IT and telecommunications has doubled, highlighting the growing environmental challenges associated with digital technology.🔗
The UK generates the second highest amount of e-waste per person worldwide. 🔗
We’re creating a better way to do broadband, and you can be a part of it.
Trees planted
Mangrove planting in Madagascar
Mangroves are crucial in maintaining coastal water quality, supporting fisheries production, and providing protection from floods, storms and tsunamis. They are capable of storing 2-3 times more carbon than traditional forests.
The project is part of a wider scheme which has planted over 300 million trees and created over 3 million workdays since 2007.
Mangroves are an excellent forest type for restoration- mangrove forests not only store more carbon than traditional forests, but they also provide multiple benefits to coastal communities like storm protection, water filtration and livelihood generation. Each mangrove tree removes around 308kg of CO2 from the atmosphere over the course of its life-cycle (approximately 25 years).

Helping the people and planet
Earth isn’t here to make you feel bad about the world’s problems or to pretend we’ve fixed all the issues in the telecoms sector. We’re here to help make it easier for you to do your part for the planet and encourage positive change in the industry.
Earth customers plant trees in Madagascar each month, helping to protect wildlife habitats and creating employment opportunities for local communities to restore our planet.
